For Schools and Classrooms

Option #1

Challenge: For every dollar raised, one minute is to be read by the participant or the class!

In this challenge, students fundraise for two weeks and then read their assigned minute count afterwards (for two weeks). For every dollar raised, one minute is to be read (i.e if the class raises $500; therefore, they need to read 500 minutes to reach their reading goal!) For the express version, all this is done within one week timeframe!

NOT WANTING TO INVOLVE TEACHERS BUT STILL DO A WHOLE SCHOOL “READ-A-THON” FUNDRAISING EVENT? We do this too!

For Schools and Classrooms

Option #2

Challenge: Can you read across Canada or the World in just two weeks?

In this challenge, students fundraise for two weeks and also reads simultaneously. The goal is to see if they could read enough minutes to travel across Canada within that two weeks timeframe. For the express version, all this is done within a week timeframe!

Testimonials

“Thank you again for such a successful event! Your software and all the set up made it so easy to coordinate, and the students LOVED the travelling avatars across Canada! Based on the feedback I have heard from the staff I think this may become an annual event!” – Lindsay S., School Council Chair, Lethbridge, AB. Children Of St. Martha’s Read-A-Thon

“I would encourage parents, teachers, anyone with some influence over youth to have a Read-A-Thon with Mind Growth Education. When you have kind, compassionate people behind the scenes doing it for the right reasons, you really can’t go wrong. You will walk away from your virtual event feeling as though you have done good, contributed to a good cause. You will walk away from your virtual event with youth who have read more than they maybe have in a long time, with inspiration to continue to read more. My personal experience is one of the most memorable events in my son’s life. He raised $5,000 for an incredible foundation. We had a lot of laughs, reading time together, and we grew even closer!” – Louise Burns, parent, Brampton, ON
