Session Proposal
“Great Things Happen When You Teach! 2022” Virtual Teacher Conference will be presented online. If you’d like to present, we would need to know by Friday, February 25th, 2022. To present at our online conference on Saturday, June 4th, 2022 you will either need to have a stable internet connection and your own computer, if you choose to present LIVE OR a stable internet connection and your own computer/cellphone to record your session before the due date, Friday, May 6th, 2022, if you choose to present via a pre-recorded video. We will also need your presentation materials by the due date so we have time to meet your technology needs, include your materials, and promote your talk across our social media and email channels.
♦ January 2022: Call for proposals open.
♦ February 25th, 2022: Deadline for submitting a session proposal.
♦ Early March 2022: Review of session proposals and response to lead presenter.
♦ May 6th, 2022 : Deadline for presenters to send their resources and pre-recorded videos (if presenter is not doing a live session).
♦ June 4th, 2022: The best virtual teacher conference of the year!
Live:
Sharing or showcasing of information, with time and strategies integrated into the session for the audience to process information and to ask questions.
Pre-Recorded:
Sharing or showcasing of information, with time and strategies integrated into the session for the audience to process information and to ask questions.
Presentation:
Sharing or showcasing of information, with time and strategies integrated into the session for the audience to process information and to ask questions. Time allocation: Choice of 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes or 90 minutes.
Workshop:
A hands-on, interactive professional development activity around a specific issue or technique. Time allocation: Choice of 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes or 90 minutes.
Panel:
A structured session on a current topic related to one or more of the conference strands that includes 3–4 presenters, a discussant/facilitator, and time for questions and discussion. Each speaker’s presentation should be a maximum of 10 minutes for a 60-minute session.
Any session that promotes a saleable product, program, or service will be considered a commercial presentation. A limited number of commercial presentations are available at $50 for a 30-minute session or $75 for a 60-minute session (commercial presentation fees do not include registration to the conference). Commercial presenters must register as general attendees or as an exhibitor.
If we select your proposal, your presenter benefits include visibility, recognition as an educational leader and complimentary conference registration so you can attend sessions and network with peers. In addition, if you’re a teacher, we’ll give you one “Read Across Canada” virtual challenge account for your classroom to participate in for free.
